The MG 1/100 RGM-79D GM Cold Districts Type is a Bandai Hobby Online Shop exclusive Master Grade release based on the cold-weather specialized mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. A late-production variant of the RGM-79 GM, the Cold Districts Type was purpose-built for subarctic and polar environments, featuring dust-proofed joints, anti-icing and anti-freezing treatments, and a non-drain mechanism to melt and sublime adhered ice and snow from critical components.

The unit's redesigned backpack offered reduced energy consumption for improved cold resistance, and its head-mounted antenna provided exceptional communication capabilities across a wide frequency range - essential for operations in the extreme electromagnetic conditions of polar regions.
