Bandai Spirits continues its acclaimed Titanium Finish GunPla lineup with the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam — the titular mobile suit of the original Mobile Suit Gundam television series — rendered in a breathtaking premium finish at the Master Grade 1/100 scale. Originally sold exclusively at Gundam Base Tokyo and Fukuoka in August 2021, this edition returns as a Premium Bandai USA reissue celebrating the GUNDAM Fan e-Festival 2023 and the Gundam Base Mobile tour across the United States.

The Titanium Finish treatment elevates the Ver. 3.0 kit to collector centrepiece status: blue and red exterior parts are finished in rich metallic colours, white armor parts receive the signature titanium finish, and yellow parts are treated with a distinguished matte gold finish. The result is a striking, premium display piece that no RX-78-2 collection should be without.

The RX-78-2 Gundam itself needs little introduction — built in secrecy on Side 7 from lightweight Luna Titanium Alloy, it was instrumental in turning the tide of the One Year War against the Principality of Zeon. Piloted by Amuro Ray, it outclassed Zeon's mass-produced mobile suits in every regard, wielding a beam rifle with firepower comparable to a battleship's beam cannons, and twin beam sabers capable of cutting through any metal. The beam sabers can also be extended into beam javelins for long-range combat.
